Wine Tasting
If you are a wine lover (or desire to be one) a stop in Uruguay would be wasted without trying some of the local wines. To make that possible we are offering wine tasting just a few blocks from the port entrance.
The wine tasting consist of a generous sample of 6 to 8 local wines, both red and white wines. The wines come from family owned wineries and are some of the best Uruguayan wines we could find.
The tasting is offered in the courtyard of a colonial style home built in 1812. It is an excellent opportunity to observe the design and architecture of that period. The name of the house is the Casa de Bernada Castilla. If the door is open when you find the house, we are serving wine so come on in.
The fee for all of the offered wines is U.S.$10. Many couple who visit us opt to share their tasting and pay a single fee. The wines being served will be available to purchase, bottle prices start at U.S. $8.
The tasting address is 25 de Mayo 241, which is two blocks behind the port market, turn right at the end of the pedestrian walkway.
